Tony Coturri Winemaker Event
Tuesday, May 20th
6-8pm
Meet the winemaker!
Taste Tony's organic wines from Sonoma, California
$50 per person
prepaid RSVP ONLY
As always, Coturri wines are handmade in small lots using only the finest organically grown grapes and nothing else.
Tony Coturri, one of the pioneers of Organic winemaking in California, will visit Ohio in May to present a series of educational wine tastings. Coturri will discuss his philosophy and techniques of Organic farming and winemaking, answer questions, and present of tasting of his wines matched with dinner or hors d'ouvres at each event.
Bonded in 1979, the Coturri winery was one of the first in California to be be certified as an organic producer, and has adhered to strict practices in the vineyard and winery, typically exceeding the requirements of the government certification program. "Our goal is not just to meet the standards, but to make the best wine we possibly can. That means setting our own standards most of the time. It can be pretty involved in the vineyard, to solve some of the growing problems without resorting to chemicals, but in the winery it's pretty simple. We use only grapes. No additives, just grapes."
Coturri has been featured several times in Wine Spectator magazine, and is currently featured in the Organic Wine Journal's "Organic Wine Adventure Tour" that lets participants take part in the winemaking process.
